I implore you to look at early Superman comics. He fought for low income housing to be better. He strong armed a prison warden to treat prisoners humanly and destroyed car factories for making unsafe cars and supported unions. All of these being fairly left leaning causes. "the American way" line was adopted after radio dramas used in in WW2 and has changed throughout history. Superman now fights for truth justice and a better tomorrow.

Are bisexual people not allowed to have superheroes who "inspire greatness" or "inspire them" or fight for their country with patriotism? I fail to see how any of the problems you listed as negative traits wouldn't inspire someone to fix a problem or rise to greatness. These characters haven't changed either. At least not that much. I'm sure Superman is incredibly concerned about climate change given that his house is in the Arctic. And I do hate to be the one to inform you, but Batman's son (not actually his son) Tim is gay and in a gay relationship, so they have already gotten to Batman.
