most likely one of the developers was targetted and pc infected and then infected the game exe so when dev uploaded an update they unknlowingly uploaded an infected file

this is why my gaming computer is for gaming. I only have Steam on that PC and my steam deck. Anything else I need to do on a PC I have a cheap computer for.
