The fact that the arts have been so underfunded and under appreciated for as long as I can remember and the push back for normalizing AI makes me so happy. Art is meant to inspire and invoke emotion. A computer cannot feel it so how can it invoke it.

Although I do agree with Guillermo, his blanket statement about AI art lacks clarity. What he should have said is that AI art is not original art because it’s based on art that was originally created by creative individuals who are not receiving credit. AI art is a byproduct of human art made by hand and digital tools. Meaning, it lacks originality and depth.

ART IS IMPORTANT, but he also prompts a cinematographer to get a specific result. he also prompts actors to do things a specific way. he approved design work that he didn't do himself. the IP (which he brings to the table) and the overall vetoing process that leads to a finished product IS the art, not the crafts that compose it. ai facilitates this workflow to more people with less resources (including nepotism) but it stresses original IP creation, which a lot (if not most) crafters do not have the chops for.
