Asantes in particular are constantly abused and derided because of how they value the Twi language. An Asante will always choose Twi over English any day if they can help it. unfortunately, there are small-minded cretins who take delight in mocking Asantes because of how they patronize the Twi language.

The fact is almost 80% of our people born in the west can't speak their original language, not only Ghanaians , most Africans, which is very sad . I've visited almost all the European countries and it's the same. Yet almost all the Chinese, Koreans,Indians, Turkish and other nations in the west born in the west they all speaks their origin tongue 🤷🏿♂️It's time to execute mental slavery.

Kids in ghana now are not even being thought their local language because its "cool" when your kids speak english. A lot of these "deebee" kids living in ghana cant speak any local language and if a child does some will say the child is unrefined. Its very sad

Used to be same in the UK,it’s just recently that things are changing, kids used to be embarrassed to speak their language, matter of fact my nickname in school was ‘auntie’ for being too Ghanaian, our minds isn’t that free yet.
