I went to private school but then wanted to do public in HS to go to use UT dual enrollment, but I didn’t even tho schools provided supplies in some places now, my friends whom are elementary teachers do spend their own money especially one and they use state, federal, and private donations some teaches can spend more than others I know. Also, I mean there’s always those kids whom don’t have the best stuff in school I do feel bad for them that happens in private school for the few scholarship kids too so I remember buying what I had and I was a last minute buyer with my parents always saying “you don’t need that in July, You’ll use it by then.” Teachers are very underpaid I know a few whom quit post pandemic and missed out on their retirement and they loved what they did but if they were moved to another grade they just couldn’t do it anymore they loved it but the students/ some parents make it difficult for the teachers to teach.

Yeah, I just sent them and never thought about them again. And he never needed anything additional so there clearly was enough for everyone. Those who. Had and those didn’t. Glad my son grown now these new world problems are strange.

Luckily my son’s school covers supplies every year, so the students don’t go without supplies during the school year. I wish more schools were able to do so.

For 3 I got a list every year got the stuff n sent it in w them I’d get another list of donations of supplies for the classroom n send in from that list as well nvr really cared either

Thank you. I am a teacher and I always buy supplies to make sure students have some in case they don’t. Mind you I still have to get my own daughter her supplies and we are not getting paid for summer and I still need to make sure I have everything I need for the class for the new year with no pay for the summer yet I don’t complain. Provide for your child that’s it.

Nope. Your not. I look up the supply list. I have never been told not to write the name on them so I write her name on everything. Yes, do what ever they need to do with them but I do want them to know my child came prepared and I also will support them throughout the year!

I always send tissues and hand sanitizer and lysol wipes, and stay in constant contact with the teacher about any materials they may need. Teachers already don't make a good salary.
