First of all, you're literally a goddess in that dress✨ If you're in a large city, find a lipedema specialist (its not very known in the US and people ignore it because of fetishization). I say this with love as someone with the exact body type who finally found answers in my 30s. If your mom looks exactly the same, the chances are even higher.

Girlie, I feel you! I lost near 100 pounds and then ended up getting sick from my diet (did keto for 3 years and my gallbladder just died). I’ve gained the weight back and then some. I’ve become a hermit, I hate social gatherings. It’s a struggle and makes me sad sometimes, but all we can do is take care of ourselves and try to be as healthy as possible.

Ooof, felt that. Lost 115 pounds from an ED. Gained some back in recovery, no big deal. Had a mental health crisis that lasted several years, gained it all back. I stopped going out because I hate seeing the disappointment.

This is your friendly reminder that your mom speaks that way to you because someone spoke those words to HER. If you don’t feel comfortable saying something to her about it, I understand. My mom used to comment on my body constantly. Until one day I told her “You know that voice in the back of your head that tells you how gross/ugly/bad you look when you look in the mirror? Do you want the voice in my head to be your voice talking to me?” I lost a bunch of weight due to illness and she was always telling me how good I looked, even though I was malnourished and skeletal. And now that I’m gaining some back, she told me “I think this is the perfect weight for you, don’t gain anymore.” It breaks my heart. My therapist told me to not engage with it. Just say “okay” and move on, but it truly hurts when people I love make me feel bad for what my body is just…doing. I’m sorry 🫶🏻💕
