the idea is very good if humans wouldn't lie or play victim or well be humans (I am aware not everything is a lie but a decent chunk is lies and because they are anonymous they have no reason to hold back so they have said some really bad things about people if they weren't anonymous but it was still only gals then maybe they would learn not to lie and it could be used correctly but as I said humans are humans

While it’s an interesting idea with phenomenal intentions, at the end of the day, we’re all human. The moment people realized they don’t have to bear the consequences of their actions, they start doing anything even if it hurts another person—in the example of the tea app, when you’re able to rate a person you were romantically engaged with, if things didn’t end well, you might be more inclined to poorly represent them as a way of getting back at them. Again, at the end of the day, we’re all human.

“Women are afraid of men” They forget that men are the victims of most of the assaults in the US. Men are also the main victims in being used as tools for free dates, free food, free attention and free“boyfriend energy.” Guys don’t have an app to avoid these women. So the argument that they are scared and want to protect themselves falls apart immediately. Feel scared all you want but same way I feel worried that I woman might just be using me I have to suck it up and give her the benefit of the doubt.

And again - women try to stay away from harm and men cry for their feeling been hurt and been wrongly blamed which never is the case. Tea app is great idea and should exist. This type of info is the only reason some of you d**ks even have dates. Without it we're done!

Isn't there a webcomic with this premise? The app is a good idea but I worry about bad actors who falsely accuse. Doxxing users are wrong and the men made a male oriented version so why are they mad now?

the tea app is not a good idea in any way shape or form. everything the tea app is supposed and meant to do could and should be done publicly. the tea app while hiding behind the idea of safety is just a gossip app that is being used to spread false information about men. a child has passed away due to lies spread on the app already.

The app in theory is actually great. But in execution..?? Two things. Data should’ve been encrypted, and if someone on the app makes a negative claim about a man, then they need to show cold hard evidence. Oh and even then, using a picture of someone’s likeness without their permission is a whole new crime, especially when it’s on an app they can’t access so they have no idea what their likeness is being used for.

Ultimately the problem with something like this, when someone is anonymous theyre alot more likely to lie AND the men these things are being said about can just sit there uncontested. That means theres zero accountability. If youre gonna post something about someone else you either shouldnt be anonymous or that shouldnt exist in an echochamber

I think it’s just a bad idea in general to relegate things like gossip or any social practice that we could normally do to an internet space. If you feel worried about dating, I recommend getting invested in your community, learning how to identify red flags, and date in more public areas to severely reduce the risk of dating violence. Or delete dating apps.
