Im new with my homelab, I also just setup my VPN to access my files! I went with PFsense and configured it through OpenVPN. works perfectly 👍🏻

Awesome stuff! Net bird is a good option as well. Also, a fun one is spinning up mikrotik CHR and using its wireguard interface is a fun project, however it’d cost money after the mikrotik free trial ends (I think it’s like $50 to own a CHR instance) nonetheless love the video can’t wait to try it myself

Yeah because you can’t configure it from scratch. Container kiddies make me laugh. Nothing on you. It’s just reassuring infrastructure will always need people who know wtf they are doing besides connecting to cables together.

I have 2 VPN on proxmox with Tailscale. 1 for me, with all ports open. 1 for my friends with Apps and only route Netflix traffic

Why do you use scripts, if you say thats a """"""""homelab"""""""""? setting this up what you did here by yourself, would be easy to do with a little help of chatgpt, even if you have no experience. But best of course is, if you know yourself how to set this up. Like this, if u use scripts even for the easiest things you made the number one and biggest mistake: you dont even know what you do on your system. even though there are big and trustable sources around, the best source of trust is yourself and your skills my man.
