The Abomination then goes on a rampage in Harlem, forcing Banner to unleash the Hulk to confront him. In a brutal battle, the Hulk defeats the Abomination but, at Betty's plea, chooses not to kill him. Banner again becomes a fugitive, but now appears to be trying to control his transformations rather than seeking a cure, with a subtle smile on his face, hints at a potential acceptance of his green alter-ego.
