Kristin Hannah books are on this earth for two things, giving insight to historically significant moments, and to hurt our feelings. You need to alternate her books with recovery

You should 100% read Remarkably Bright Creatures if you haven't yet. Also... The Four Winds by Kristen Hannah or anything from her really. I loved the Nightingale so much and nothing really comes close to it but Remarkably Bright Creatures has all the feels! I will never stop recommending that book. 🥹🥹🥹

The Four Winds left me devastated for months. I have not found the courage to read the Nightingale and doubt I will. I can only take so much emotional damage.

I was in the fetal position crying the whole way through the last 100 pages!!! It destroyed me! Read the Great Alone next lol, Four Winds killed me too but not in a good way. The Women was also so good but Nightingale and the Great Alone are my 5/5s from her!

I think the people who read historical fiction are more aware and empathetic to current events. The parallels are unmistakable. I had to read a few lighthearted books in between but when you’re ready, I highly recommend The Alice Network by Kate Quinn.

A Little Life, The Women, and The Nightingale are books that stay with you. These characters are like people I know in my head. I think of them often (especially Jude). So hard, and so emotional, but still my favorite reads of all time!!!

The Women by Kristan Hannah did this to me. I usually jump from book to book quickly but that one took me about a week before I could pick up anything else

PROTECT THIS MAN AT ALL COSTS!!! Reads, Harry Potter enthusiast and doesn't have an "emotional range of a teaspoon". 🙏💙 Thanks for my next read recommendation.

After you have recovered, All The Light We Cannot See and All The Colors of the Dark should be your next reads. Phenomenal books.

This book haunts me. When I was reading the part where Ari/Daniel’s family came, I was sitting next to my own three year old son. I cried like no other.
