Because leftists typically exist outside of power structures so they're not beholden to the same corporate donors, elite media or political think tanks; this gives them clarity and urgency not available to those on the inside but ultimately this is what marginalises them from the political arena. Liberalism, especially in the U.S. has long positioned itself as the ideological defender of the capitalist order and institutional preservation, not radical change—there is no incentive to intervene in Gaza unless the solutions are market-driven. Trump literally called the place a Riviera in the Middle East and Dems consistently vote to give more funding in service to the military industrial complex. Complicity in atrocities is the defining trait of liberals and centrists, in the face of existential threats they often: tone-police the left & uphold decorum over substance, appeal to institutions and demand bipartisanship even in asymmetrical or unjust situations. It is a feature of their incessant bothsidesism which treats systemic oppression as "debates," insist on neutrality even in clear power imbalances and equate protest or resistance with violence from oppressive actors.

Knowing history contradicts their liberals good/better alternative talking point.
