Replying to @lizzvent You can never guarantee everyone at a company will follow all the laws. You can protect yourself as an employee and make sure you always email requests. An email of asking about FMLA or ADA is your “line in the sand.” If you’re treated badly after that, you can demonstrate you were treated badly after you requested FMLA or ADA and that’s retaliation. If you make verbal requests, you lack the documentation that you made a request. If you prefer to speak to HR or a manager about this, that’s fine. Just send an email right after recapping that convo. And if someone who doesn’t have a need to know is told your private health information, document that in an email and ask follow up. And, unfortunately, I’ve had a boss share my private health information relayed to fmla. I disclosed my need for fmla and why in an email. And she shared that email on screen in a meeting. Nope, I’m not kidding. And a coworker at the time texted me about it bc she was in the meeting. So, I can’t ensure everyone follows the law. But you can still protect yourself by sending emails. And you can definitely request that or remind them that sharing your inquiry or any info related to this with anyone who doesn’t have a need to know isn’t ok! This Morrocan coffee company has hundreds of coffee roasts from 35 countries to choose from as well as a food and dessert menu. 🥐 You can also pick out a coffee and take it to go. We bought several boxes to bring home 😆 We are big coffee lovers so this was a decadent treat that was unexpected on our adventures. Think afternoon tea, but with coffee.
