It’s because his name caused change. The same way they can’t stop bringing up MLK in refrence to our disdain with society, they will now use him as well. They hate any significant individual who causes change. They hate acknowledging that it did something, that it got ppl to come together. That infuriates them. They’re not attacking him, they’re attacking our ability to unite under injustice.

people also forget that the impact of george floyd wasn't because he was a good person or some political activist, the point was that he was unjustly murdered in an act of police brutality. i think by people using the, "gotcha!" of him being an addict or a felon is just completely missing the issue.

The whole point is to smear black activism. “ you guys venerate this guy who robbed a pregnant lady and you burnt down cities!!!” Same ish they did with Rodney. The point was that another black person was unjustly 💀 by police in America and the problem reached a boiling point. And if in correct during the peaceful blm protest it was found that there were agent provacateurs who purposefully started problems to smear the protests 🤔

For clarification because there’s still a lot of misinformation going around: George Floyd was arrested for aggravated robbery in 2007. The woman who was inside the home he robbed is Aracely Henriquez and while she did have a toddler inside the home, she was NOT pregnant. He faced prison time and was released in 2013, eight years BEFORE he was murdered. There was no reason for him to die that day. He doesn’t need to be the perfect victim for you to understand police brutality
