I'm Italian and Irish I always had dark eyes and dark hair and Italian feature when I grew up all the barbies were blonde and everyone around me has blue eyes and everyone that was favoured around me had blonde hair and blue eyes. I get. I really do. but when I show up at an event full of these people I upstage them when I embrace my unique features.

This is also so sad for women like myself who do naturally have blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and the “conservative” body. Society sexualizes us so much and tries to fit us into this mold of who we should be and how we should act because of our looks. People think they know me because of the way I look but it’s devastating to be viewed as “eye candy” for men and to think that I may not be what they truly want and that I just meet “society standards”. It’s so hard for all women whether you meet this “standard” or not and I wish as society we could see the beauty in ALL women and not pick certain bodies and genes to be “trends”.
