I own my own house now, but at my last rental property they tried to get me for grass growing in the roof gutter. I was 8 months pregnant and they wanted me to climb up a ladder to deal with it. I’d been there less than 12 weeks 😏

My ex landlord is trying to get me for his decrepit, not even meeting minimum standards house repairs & renovations, approximately 100 yo house, no floor was level, actually completely warped (have photos) doorframes looked like a preschool drawing walls pulling out of floors, kitchen roof leaks during heavy rain, black mould on interior & exterior cealings and walls, you needed good sea legs to walk throughout most of the house, oh & spilled a bucket of water, while mopping, that ended in a call to emergency services, because the floor was sparking & smoking etc 😳

I got done on an exit inspection because the AC remote battery was flat and there was dust on a light fixture. I had to go back to fix that. Another tried to get me for carpet lifting in one of the rooms, I asked for pics, and heard nothing more

I failed a rental inspection once because I was in my PJs, and I had just made breakfast so there was breakfast stuff on the bench and the dishes from it in the sink. I had worked until 1 am and the real estate arrived at 9am on the dot. Eerrgghh.

Yep I got done because i Gave my daughter breakfast in her high chair then they turned up and flagged me because there were crumbs on the floor from my baby having toast.

My sister in law hired professional cleaners and still failed the inspection. Wasn't given a proper reason as to why.

this is accurate. I once failed an inspection because I had dirty dishes from that mornings breakfast, literally a bowl a plate and a spoon, and having a basket of washing sitting on the couch

Whenever we rented we automatically assumed a) we would never pass an inspection from the person inspecting b) our bond would never be refunded c) to ensure the place was filthy when an inspection was going to take place d) arrange for the lease to stipulate that an inspection must take place during Result? Never had an inspection. 😎 Oh, and we took hundreds of digital photos of the rental premises before we moved in and emailed them as an attachment to the rental agency.😎

Try being 6 months ahead in rent , inspection day comes .Follow up phone call , you left slippers laying around and cat toys scattered . Umm yes we have permission for a cat and he plays with the toys when we are at work . As for the slippers which are inside the door not laying around , I’m a nurse and don’t wear my work shoes inside the house .Like what the hell 😳
