Taking a traditional steak and giving it a delicious Chinese twist! This 300g rump steak marinated with MSG, oyster sauce, mushroom soy, and five spice, then oven-roasted to perfection. Paired with stir-fried veggies and served with fluffy white rice, it’s a fusion feast that’s perfect for dinner. Check out the full recipe below and enjoy! 🍲🥢 Ingredients • For the Steak: • 300g rump steak • 1 tsp MSG • 1 tbsp oyster sauce • 1 tbsp mushroom soy sauce • 1 tsp five spice powder • For the Stir-Fry: • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced • 1 garlic clove, minced • 1/2 red capsicum, thinly sliced • 1 whole bok choy, cleaned and chopped • 1/4 cup neutral oil • For the Sauce: • 1/4 cup oyster sauce • 2 tbsp water • Dash of fish sauce • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar • For Serving: • White rice • Sesame seeds • Spring onions (optional) Recipe 1. Marinate the Steak: • Season the rump steak with MSG. • Brush with oyster sauce and mushroom soy sauce. • Sprinkle with five spice powder. • Marinate for 30 minutes. 2. Cook the Steak: • Preheat the oven to 135°C (275°F). • Roast the steak for 30 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 49°C (120°F). 3. Prepare the Stir-Fry: • While the steak is in the oven, thinly slice the onion, garlic, and red capsicum. • Clean and chop the bok choy. • Heat neutral oil in a wok. 4. Finish the Steak: • Remove the steak from the oven and reverse sear it in the hot oil in the wok. • Cook for about 2.5 minutes, turning regularly. • Set aside to rest for 10 minutes. 5. Stir-Fry the Vegetables: • Strain the oil from the wok and return it to the heat. • Add the onion, garlic, red capsicum, and bok choy to the wok. • Stir-fry until tender. 6. Make the Sauce: • Mix together the oyster sauce, water, fish sauce, and rice wine vinegar. • Add the sauce to the stir-fried vegetables and toss to coat. 7.
