I find it weird people insist they have persistent ear infections, but then what about other dogs with a similar ear shape/longer ears? Labradors, retrievers, spaniels, dachshund, etc. If having hanging ears=infection shouldn't they all be getting cropped if it's not for aesthetics 🤔

Work in a vets - I have NEVER seen a dobie come in with persistent ear infections or tail problems - seems to only be a problem in countries where docking is legal🙄

Im finally on the right side of TikTok omg. Like, if the floppy ears and the long tail had truly been an issue, those traits would’ve been bred out DECADES ago. Curiously, ear infections and happy tail seem only to be a problem in the countries where docking are cropping are legal and only with Doberman. What about other dogs with long tails and floppy ears?!

if croping helped for ear infections so many pet spaniels would be croped docking only helps working dogs and for happy tail but removing a tail to prevent a possible injury would be insane

The only time docking or cropping are acceptable to me is when it’s for a medical issue, for example happy tail syndrome. Thank you for keeping your Dobie natural 🥰

My old man (Rottweiler X Great Dane) has a tail more like a Doberman, as in it’s a skinny rope, he scares me so much hitting things with it! It doesn’t curl up so it throws everything off sides and he’s always playing drums on anything near him, it hasn’t broken and doesn’t seem to bother him but I’m still so scared something will happen because he has an overactive wag reflex 😅but I also know it can cause more problems so he’s keeping his tail and will be treated if any issues arise, fingers crossed 💚
