The artist Ziad Rahbani was the one who filed a paternity denial lawsuit (also known as a reverse paternity claim) regarding his son, Assi Rahbani. In 2004, he revealed that DNA testing had failed to establish a biological relationship, and he officially requested that his son be prohibited from using the "Rahbani" surname or being registered under his name in official records. However, the Lebanese court (First Instance Court in North Metn) rejected the case and called for an amicable resolution in order to preserve the family's symbolic reputation in art and culture.
