@david.akash16: Video 440 Salary Balancing for new hires. If your company hires new people in and then has to pay them a higher rate to recruit them, they need to adjust the teams salary to match the new hires because: 1. There are now laws against disciplining employees for salary discussion, so it’s going to come out. 2. When the people training the new people make less they will find out and be furious. 3. You will have turnover and ruin your company culture with this behavior. Be transparent, be real, adjust salaried to make it fair. Do it before the new hire starts, not after it’s already a problem. Disagree? Let’s hear it, I will be happy to argue about this one. #salary #compensation #mattrieck #transparency #companyculture
Join a union. All jobs in the USA should be mandatory unionized

Not to mention that if those employees leave, now they would need to hire the new employees at the higher rate anyways. So bump up those employees that you already have which would eliminate having to train 3 more new ppl.

I feel like after years we should make well more than new hires not the same or less because the person that's put all these years in have busted their buttons for every raise they earned

It will never happen unless it’s law. Or a union. I worked for a company for 33 years. The first year 1993 I got no vacation no PTO time at all. New employees took 5 years to make what took me 33 years to make. Plus new employees get 10 days of PTO. Plus they took my 5 week of vacation away.

A few years ago I asked for a raise to bring me to the same level as the new hire. They said no. Took them three people to replace me because I had one of the largest workloads and I was *really* good at my job.

I am not a fan of equal pay. you should be paid according to what you produce, or how much value added you are, and abilities.

That’s why when you get hired you aim WAY higher than your making currently it’s the biggest raise you get when you’re hired
