There is no such thing as “I don’t see color.” That is called ERASURE!! If you don’t see my color then you DON’T SEE ME, MY EXPERIENCE, and you are participating in ERASURE… what you mean is I don’t JUDGE people BASED on race/color.

💯% agree. Remember when Fox News claimed Oprah said yt people need to ☠️when in actuality she said: “there are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in that prejudice and racism and they just have to ☠️”That’s what she meant. We still have people alive who were and are Jim Crow segregationists.

Well said , I am very thankful I lived in a neighborhood that wasn’t all white. I have made new family that’s are different and it killed any racism my blood family tried to instill in me

SEEING color isn't the problem, we need them to see color, what we don't need is for them to judge it. Not invisible, not forgotten, but accepted and included.

Nuanced racism is the new "racism for monetization". He'll come out as left leaning or independent or whatever is socially acceptable in about 3-4 months.

I had a friend tell me her partners brother cried when he found out hulk hogan died. And I was so confused becuase he’s such a pos. And I remembered that she told me they ( her partner and his family)were raised in a racists family. He’s changed so much that I keep forgetting. Yup the middle part is super important ❤️❤️❤️

The only folks I’m willing to give grace and correct them are super old Boomers, not young Boomers. And this dude has to be elder millennial or gen x. Hasn’t given enough F’s to pay the slightest bit of attention. He can learn the lesson in a harsh way, I don’t believe he’s been given other opportunities to learn.

Honest question. Im filipino livin in Texas. I describe myself as brown/yellow, depending on the context of the conversation. Maybe I’m just a little bit older and out of the loop, but did we stop using the term “colored”? My first thought/reference goes to “I am a person of color” and the NAACP. Obviously it’s an older term and has history in Jim Crow, but I thought it was ours to use. I’m down for progress and change, but we just say “minority/minorities” now? I say that too in context, but overall it sounds very whitewashed/clinical. Just curious what others say/self-reference as.

The problem is we swept the middle part under the rug. Like Germany, we have to confront it, and make sure it is no longer acceptable in our society.

Why do we have to get to where we can’t “see” race to grow and be anti-racist as a culture? Why can’t we see it and just see it as a natural and cool part of human diversity?

“But he was nice to me” is and will never be a proper justification. He was nice to you because of your complexion and if someone is only nice to you because of that then that person is not a nice person. Learn, grow, and be better

For me, I will always love the hogan character of the past not the person the person once I found out who they really were about everything they did disgusted me, and I’m glad he’s gone but the Hulkster character I keep separate from that because it holds fond memories for me, but I will never ever defend Hogan and I’m surprised that Joey did I really like Joey and I can’t understand how we can defend Hogan that just truly is mind-boggling

What I like to remind people of is that Ruby Bridges is only in her 70's & many of our parents/grandparents probably remember sitting in front of the TV watching the news coverage of her being able to go to a newly desegregated school.
