sometimes I do too but I personally try not to bc the grass and hay can become sharp and tangled around the bit being rlly uncomfortable for them but I mean if you clean the bit after every ride no one can say anything🤷‍♀️

i used to buy one time my horse started chocking cause the grass got wrapped around his bit and never again

with certain bits it’s far more risky. there are ones called “grazing bits” but rlly long grass is just not ideal to let them graze on

I give treats with my bit in but I leave my cavesson loose…if your noseband is tight, they can’t move their jaw to properly chew 😦
