“Eyes on the street” is exactly why in 2003 when I move back to Louisville Kentucky I didn’t choose an apartment on East market. The book I read was Richard Florida’s book titled the creative class. I wanted to be about what made Louisville vibrant. As a single person moving to a street where there weren’t enough people I didn’t feel safe and chose a different neighborhood. Now the area is thriving, but the artists and other creative professionals were first because the real estate cost was low. Now with the demands of return on investment, the area has gentrified beyond affordability.
