As a daughter of an oil field worker, he had missed so many memories, out of 21 birthdays he’s been to 3-4 max, was only at my high school graduation for 30 minutes, missed my first family day at college. He’s been in the field 20+ years now and he always tells me how he regrets it because he didn’t get to watch his kids grow up and now his youngest is 16 and he has no bond with her. But he feels it’s too late to leave the rigs because he’s 42 and that’s all he’s known. He works hard to support his family but sacrifices time with us for that money, he’s putting me through college to be a vet. I pray every night that I can retire my dad from the fields and buy that mechanic shop for him because hes his happiest when he’s fixing a car.

I understand when moms get mad because they are always with the kids and dads are always at work and miss time as a family. But if his trying to give his family everything he once didn’t have as a kid and is hardworking then, pónganse las pilas mijas! Start a business with him! So you and the babies can be with him and so you can make your own schedules! We can’t leave them alone either!

My partner and I are on the same page wanting a better future for the both of us and our future kids. I have two jobs im off one day a week, my partner is out of state a lot! Currently taking a 3 month contract in a whole different state. We both ft eachother any time we are free too even during work hours. We trust eachother and we are doing well like this. Over working ourselves now so we can enjoy a little more later on when we do have kids. I completely support him in his work and the trips he takes

I’ve been an office mommy and it didn’t provide me the freedom to be there for my kids during covid I lost my job because every other day another kid was exposed that’s when my husband went to the field and I became a sahm!! ITS ALL BECAUSE OF HIM!!! We all are obsessed with dad!! lol it is our job to ensure he doesn’t miss a moment even if he is away!! A phone call
