![Sometimes, the way we treat salah is truly shameful. We delay it. We skip it. We pray lazily, without presence, without heart. We treat it like a chore rather than the lifeline that it is. Why? Because the sweetness of faith is missing from our hearts. The connection isn’t there. We think about everything in the world our future, our worries, our distractions but not about the very One who controls all of it. We comfort ourselves with thoughts like, “I’ll start praying properly soon. Allah will forgive everything eventually.” But that’s not how it works. Allah is the Most Merciful, yes but He is also Just. He has set rules, and those rules matter. You can’t live in disobedience and still expect everything to fall into place. Deep down, many of us remember what it felt like to truly pray. That moment of stillness. That closeness. That softness of heart when we stood alone in the dark, whispering our worries to the One who hears all. That feeling of peace in sujood, when it felt like the world stopped. Maybe you felt that before. Maybe you feel it now. But something changed. Time passed. We got distracted. Our hearts became harder. Our priorities shifted. And slowly, we became distant from the One who never distanced Himself from us. And now, we need to ask ourselves a serious question: What are we doing with our lives? Do you want purpose in your life? It comes from the Lord. Do you want ease in your heart? It comes from the Lord. Do you want rizq, barakah, happiness in your home, in your marriage, in your children? It all comes from the Lord. Do you want your du‘as to be answered? That too comes from Him. Every single thing your heart is searching for peace, purpose, guidance, relief, love is with Him. And yet, we disobey Him. We ignore Him. We put Him last. And then we wonder why our hearts are empty and our lives are full of hardship. Think deeply about this: If you’ve cut off your connection with Allah… if you’ve neglected your obligations, lived in sin, and kept putting Him last how can you expect Him to give you peace and blessings? Are you really waiting for pain to wake you up? For loss to break you before you finally return? Why wait for a storm to remember the shelter? Turn back now. Don’t delay your repentance until everything is falling apart. Fix your relationship with Allah now while you still can. Don’t be like those whom Allah describes: “They forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves.” [Surah Al-Hashr, 59:19] They lost their connection with Him and with it, they lost who they were.
