I did a commission for a big YouTuber from my childhood once. He wanted me to do a set of 20-25 twitch emotes. I kept him updated, got the sketches approved, the Lineart, and then when I went to color and send it to him, he came back asking for revisions for half (aka he wanted different designs) and did this TWICE before absolutely ghosting me . Thankfully he paid upfront but he was awful at communication.

… oh joy… that colour comment reminded me of my very VERY short career as a graphic designer where I actually had to explain to my boss that the same red does not look the same on top of brown as it does on top of black. I said “that’s how colour theory works”, his reply “this isn’t theory! It’s real life!”… my hushed retort? “Well, this is a case when theory beats real life”. No, he didn’t fire me, I was waaaaaay too cheap to be fired. I quit a month later.

I had a dedicated client that was so picky that when it came to colors, I would have to sit with them in a call and share my screen and basically get it down to the exact hex code in order for them to be satisfied 😅

you have far more patience than I do. I had one person who was commissioning me want two different versions of the same art but slightly different and did not want to pay extra for it, I did like 3 commissions for them before getting fed up
