Dance of Quills :
Gluttony is characterised as doing anything to keep what you need(Difference from greed is it is more a want, while gluttony a necessity. This is shown vividly by Gula.) The very important thing about this here is that 7 Crimes and Punishments states that “the seed is planted bearing juicy red fruit”(If I didn’t remember wrongly) The whole thing about it is doused in Gluttony, down to the idea about motherhood. Banica ate everything but her child. Meta in the end only protected her twins. Then, there’s Eve who actually killed Meta for the twins. So the apple is the womb, but also their act of gluttony…They needed this, it’s stated in their songs. Plus, we could also argue it was Project M.A in itself, who started it, needing the project for salvation and sinning by the massive harm it (wittingly and not) brought to candidates. So, why the tangent? The apple is the sin of gluttony, and indulgence in it, which is even highlighted by the fact it is also a womb here. Also apple is a womb…A womb of both divinity and sin.(The godly twins, but also the bible of which this is based on says the bite of original fruit is the sin) So that’s what the bite in the apple represents, in detail. (This also hints at Hansel and Gretel’s fate as Banica’s servants) Additionally, the inside of an apple core is yellow, the color for pride. Pride is defined as an unwillingness to change or bend, viewing oneself as best. (Which might also be why that color is one of the closest to divinity in Evillous, gods are near unmovable in it) They both speak with tons of pride for the people around them. The divinity thing is important as it shows the power of which it holds. They’re both really powerful witches. The fact that Meta originally ate more means she was at first the more prideful person in the equation, she doesn’t really care about her whole murder thing(Which is the frame the drawing is meant to be in)(I haven’t read the novels, this is an assumption) It could also showcase how she used her magic(linked to divinity in a sense) more and to do sin in that frame in time.(More eating=more sin) (1/??)
