Blueberry Basil Lemonade 🍋🫐🌱 Using @carolinagelen lemonade base method Ingredients - 10 juicy lemons (~ 1 + 1/2 cup) - Zest of 2 lemons - 1 cup blueberries - 1 cup filtered water - 1/2 cup sugar + 1 tbsp - 15 basil leaves Recipe 1. To make blueberry basil syrup — add blueberries to a pot over low heat and mix in sugar, cover the blueberries in sugar and add 1 tbsp of lemon, mix for one minute 2. Pour over filtered water and bring to a soft boil, stirring, then lower the heat to allow to simmer 3. Simmer for ~10-15 minutes, smash down blueberries and add in basil leaves. Allow to simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, then remove from heat and cover and sit for 15 minutes. Once infused with basil, strain out through a mesh strainer to separate the pulp and place in the fridge to cool 4. For the lemonade — clean lemons and zest two of them 5. Add 1 tbsp of sugar into zest and rub together with fingers for a few minutes to release oils 6. Juice all of the lemons (roll them out with palm before to release excess juice) 7. Add juice to zest mixture and store in the fridge 8. When ready to make lemonade, mix 2 oz lemonade base, ~2 oz blueberry basil syrup, and 6 oz filtered water over ice (for more sour, add more base, for more sweet, add more syrup, for less of both, add more water and less of the others) 9.
