I was very lucky to live in Venice during my Uni days for a semester. That was almost 30 years ago. I’ve been back a few times and each time I can’t believe how many more people are there. It is completely being destroyed by over tourism. #nograndinavi

There is a bus just outside the airport for 16£ or less that takes you to venice in 20mi :) so very easy and cheap.

There’s nothing more satisfying than going to Venice in winter ( my favourite season) and watch all the influencers suffer from Aqua Alta 🤣🤣🤣. Have you seen ball room gowns trying to parade on raised side walks 🤣🤣🤣. Nothing satisfies my perimenopause more 😉

if you want to do venice i 100% recommend going in winter. less americans, less tourists in general, no sweating in packed crowds and off peak prices. a beautiful city when not full of tourists

We flew into Verona and then got a train to Venice, I was expecting it to be rubbish because everyone shits on it but I thought it was amazing. Top tip - in the summer the Doge's Palace is open until 11pm. Me and the missus boggled in half-cut after dinner and had the place more or less to ourselves.
