The 7 Levels of Jahannam (Hell) 1. Jahannam – General name and first level. For sinning Muslims who died without repentance. Many will be saved eventually by Allah’s mercy. 2. Ladha – A blazing fire for those who arrogantly denied the truth after it reached them. 3. Al-Hutamah – The crushing fire. For those who mocked others, gossiped, hoarded wealth, and ignored their duties. 4. Sa’ir – A roaring fire. For those who led others astray, rebelled against Allah, or promoted falsehood. 5. Saqar – For people who neglected prayer, ignored the poor, and denied the Day of Judgment. 6. Al-Jaheem – A deep, intense fire. For those who rejected Allah knowingly, the enemies of the Prophets and tyrants. 7. Al-Hawiyah – The lowest level. For the hypocrites—those who pretended to believe but secretly betrayed Allah and His Messenger. ⸻ Key truths: • All these punishments are just, based on the level of evil and arrogance. • Not all stay forever. Some will be taken out by Allah’s mercy. • The worst punishment is being cut off from Allah’s mercy. ⸻ What saves us? • True belief (Tawheed) • Prayer • Repentance • Good character • Following the Prophet ﷺ And Allah’s mercy is greater than any sin.

قال رسول الله ﷺ: «كَلِمَتَانِ خَفِيفَتَانِ عَلَى اللِّسَانِ، ثَقِيلَتَانِ فِي الْمِيزَانِ، حَبِيبَتَانِ إِلَى الرَحْمَـٰنِ: سُبْحَانَاللَهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَاللَهِ الْعَظِيمِ» (رواه البخاري ومسلم) --- English: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “There are two phrases that are light on the tongue, heavy on the scale, and beloved to the Most Merciful: ‘Subḥānallāhi wa biḥamdih, Subḥānallāhil-‘Aẓīm.’” (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim)
