@emilyannburford: I wanted to sub 2 my next half marathon of the year which happened to be this course, but wasn’t sure what the outcome would be seeing that I had never run a race with this much elevation gain before. My last half was the La Jolla half marathon in May and my finishing time was 2:04 with a 950ft elevation gain. The SF Bridge Half had over 1200ft elevation gain and tbh I’m not great with hills. I trained for steady incline mileage so I could conserve energy on the hills and emphasize speeding up once I hit the plateau or downhill. And it freaking worked!!!! Even with walking the brutal hill of mile 11. At mile 12.5 I saw I was at 1:54 and I said we ARE getting this sub 2 done today and then I took off. I’m so proud of myself! SUB 2 and a PR for my 2025 half’s (I’ve ran 3 this year!). I haven’t sub 2 a half since college in 2020. I can’t wait to see what my next half has instore for me! Congrats to all the runners out there. This course was definitely challenging but the most beautiful course I’ve run so far❤️ My race day go to’s: @Fabletics @Strava @Garmin Connects @Brooks Running @honeystinger @FlipBelt #sanfrancisco #racecourse #runnergirl #pr #sanfranciscohalfmarathon #sfhalfmarathon #emonarun #goldengatebridge #Running #raceday #halfmarathon #runninghills #runningvlog #hilltraining #runningdiaries
