@juliansarafian: Some thoughts on this as someone who worked in Biglaw and now runs my own firm. 1) AI will help improve the quality of junior associate work. 2) Traditional law firms are not efficient, and many won't use the majority of benefits AI offers. 3) 1 in 3 law graduates do not have a lawyer job waiting for them, a trend that's remained unchanged in the last decade. That's unrelated to AI, but deserves more attention. 4) AI may be better than a bad lawyer, or brand new lawyers' work, and that's not something to worry about. What do you think? #law #lawyer #legalindustry #lawtok #lawfirm #forcreatorsbycreators

The thought that these geriatric partners and more senior associates would actually review documents produced by AI is so funny they can’t even turn on tracked changes on their own without losing their minds and when was the last time theyve gone through discovery process to even know the facts of the case plssss

I’m an attorney from Brazil with some experience in contracts and now learning litigation and has helped me so much and honestly done a better job than I could at this point in time. It cannot provide accurate jurisprudence and court precedents though.

Some in the industry are much more doomer than I however let’s not forget the ABA, state legislature, and Congress are so filled to the brim with attorneys they’re not going to legislate themselves out of a job. Even the biggest ahole partners I’ve met understand the struggle junior associates went through.

AI isn’t taking your job. The dude sitting beside you who knows how to expertly use AI is, though.

This is exactly why I didn’t take the bar after law school. I’m in develop learning how to make lang models and AI models. Now I’m studying for my bar. I saw the writing on the wall years ago

AI will def take jobs ... why wouldn't I just hire fewer junior attorneys? save on costs vs trying to upskilll them?

I work for an insurance company and we just had a meeting and they are expecting AI to replace all our lawyers in 5 years. They also said lawyers are going to be lobbying to prevent AI being able to replace them but it will happen eventually.

i think there’s a disconnect due to poor communication. people should really specify what models they’re referring to. for example, chatgpt o3 pro makes 4o look incompetent

I still have partners who won’t use track changes. They’re printing off docs and giving me hand written edits 🙃

The same in marketing, the best storytellers will still help craft stories that resonate with the audience and sell the product. A human still needs to do the branding

It’s the same story for software engineering. Of you look at high quality survey data of developers very few are worried about loosing their job to AI. The thing even some executives are falling victim to is a lot of the AI job dooms day folks are typically talking their book more than current reality.

I just refuse to believe this tweet chat gpt can’t even take given text and sort through it. Everytime you give chat gpt text and tell it to find answer something based off that text and no other sources it always creates it’s answer not based off the text when you tell it to quote it, it will make up quotes not in the text and it answers so confidently you never know when it’s making up stuff or if it’s actually doing what you tell it to.

As a 2nd year who uses AI regularly, I find it pretty useless and unhelpful a lot of the time. If partners are relying on AI to draft motions, they are idiots and good luck to them 😂
