My dog had to have her first season before her spay for health reasons and when she went into heat my mum said guard her with your life cos those boys will turn up from miles around! It was wild, the entire male dog population of the village lost any brain cells they had! They were escaping gardens and sitting out on my driveway, running away from walks, etc. Absolute insanity!

My dog goes bananas if there’s another dog in heat. He loses his mind from like a block away. Barking, bouncing, etc. I thought he was picking a fight until I asked the owner lol

My dog dislikes all strangers, dogs and humans alike, but one time when she was in heat, she saw a random dog and pulled toward and whines like they were star-crossed lovers. The other dog decided to play along and the other owner and I had to pull them away from each other while they cried and acted out their little tragedy. I would’ve felt bad if I wasn’t laughing so hard.

I’d give the vet a call and see if they will spay her while she’s still in heat I know a lot of of them won’t do that. I don’t know logistics but that’s what I know.

It’s this way with cats too! We once had a cat in heat and we had a broken window covered by plywood in the basement and a cat literally bashed himself into it until it broke. There was actual blood.

Def let the vet know she’s in heat, her spay appoint may need to be rescheduled (my condolences 🙏 ) I feel for you, when my greyhound went into her first heat it serious felt like I needed to file a sexual harassment claim.

I let my GSD have her first heat, and omg it was so funny. She was such a little HUSSY! She convinced the desexed rotweiler to mount her multiple times, poor dude really didn't know what he was doing though.
