My dad had a cancer scare last year, it’s the same thing! I didn’t have a good relationship before that because of his drinking and smoking. I’ve been so scare things will go back to the way they were before the cancer scare. The little girl in me is so scared but so happy to have him back ❤️

I grew up with a dad who struggled with addiction and I had brothers I was the only girl and I was treated horribly and after he choked me and almost killed me I did no contact..he's been trying to have a relationship but I'm in my 30s where we're you when I needed you!! I'm so glad your dad is finally showing you how you deserve to be loved❤️❤️I'm still no contact to this day because of that fear you just mentioned 😫

My dad got cancer and went thru the same revelations. unfortunately it did end up taking his life however I am forever grateful we mended our relationship before he passed.

I love that you are finally getting the love you deserved from your dad all this time. My dad had a moment of this too (no cancer diagnosis for him) but to feel genuine love from him when I never thought id have that is healing. even though I'm still guarded and have trauma from him, he is now the reason I can start healing those wounds
