You can also ask the Shabbos Goy (I'm not being disrespectful) if in distress or difficulty. I would tell my Orthodox friends after leaving Shabbat dinner "If your electricity goes out and you need water. ice, help, (we live in AZ) give this piece of paper with my number to your neighbour and I'll come straight away" Im the shabbos goy.
