Years ago when our kids were young we set up an auto deposit into our kids accounts at our credit union …and every so often I laugh about the fact they’re still getting their “allowance” every paycheck. Mind you they are now young adults living on their own & one is married! 😂

Biggest mistake I’ve ever made was not opening a 529….college fund early enough. I put $ in savings but I should’ve opened a 529 when my kids were born!

I do this for my daughter too! All her money from birthdays and holidays going there. Also anything of hers, toys or clothes, that I sell on marketplace I put that money in there too

Just a little recommendation if you do a 529 for college don’t put it in your child’s name put it in your name or grandparents name cause it’ll count less against them

Such a great idea! I did this for my first but didn’t have the luxury to be able to keep putting into it. My BIL, who has no kids, did and the oldest got over $1,000 as a gift when he graduated HS. Not a ton, but it was exciting.
