When my husband was waiting in the waiting room he saw a guy come in carrying his chopped off fingers in a paper towel. The pt said I need some help, placed the fingers on the desk infront of receptionist than passed out. He drove himself there with half of his fingers gone. You never know what you'll see in ED.

When I was working 911 we had a call come in from a local mill. One of the workers had accidentally sawed off a few fingers. The caller said “don’t worry tho, we put them in milk.” I said “I…I’m sorry did you mean ice? Did you put them in ice?” They said “No. we got a cup of milk and plopped them in there to preserve them so they can be reattached.” 🤦🏼♀️I just sighed and said “Ok then. Make sure to also tell that to the paramedics when they get there. They’ll want to hear it from you.”
