I appreciate your approach to Mary. See when Jesus says “my mother and brothers are those who do the will of God” he didn’t say it to dismiss, reject or diminish Mary, not at all. She is the perfect example of hearing the will of God and doing it. Rather he was teaching his listeners that his family goes beyond those who were biologically his brothers and mother, his family is all those who hear the will of God and follow it. It was a teaching moment to say that we all can be his family if we do the will of God, not to dishonor or dismiss Mary, rather his saying this actually acknowledges her role as his mother bc the whole reason she even was his mother was because she did the will of the father.

This is a beautiful thing that we get to witness the power of God so we get to see this full of grace twice we get to see it with Mary and we get to see it with Stephen but let’s see the difference with Stephen when the Greek word is used here it’s not the same as Mary’s in acts when the word full of grace is used ( plēres charitos) the meaning of it is right then and there he is full of grace in the present moment but when Mary is called full of grace and Luke, we get something different from the Greek ( Kecharitomenē ) this is a past present and future full of grace

I could be incorrect but isnt theotokos more to bolster our understanding of the trinity and to combat nestorian heresies rather than to exhault Mary herself, if I am incorrect please let me know

Matthew :
The dogmatization of Mary being sinless was declared in 1850s cuz that’s when it started to slightly become questioned, before then it was just common knowledge that she was sinless so no need to dogmatize it, just like the real presence in the 1200s and 73 books, all these things were required without being dogmatized but right when they got the slightest bit of misconceptions going around they were dogmatized. It’s no different with this case ✝️🙏🏼

Now this is an amazing video, instead of our right accusing us of idolatry or being pagan. You genuinely ask questions and you do realize how important the Blessed Mother actually is. God bless you brother and I hope you get the answers you need

Their theology comes from Ancient Babylonian paganism. For a long time there has been a devil being wanted to be worshipped as a female deity. You can find this devil as Semaramis, Ashteroth, Eostre, Ishtar, Isis, Venus etc. and now Mary.

The theology of the trinity is inferred upon the scripture. Are you going to deny that?

The immaculate Conception is biblical Who is the woman in Genesis 3:15? In order to figure this out it’s easier to figure out her offspring God speaking to the Serpent “I will put enmity between you and and the woman her offspring and yours he will crush your head and you shall strike his heal” now Christ is the obvious person that defeats the Serpent on the cross we all know this so who is Christ the offspring of Mary so enmity means a deep guttural hatred or metaphorically separation. This is why John in his Gospels only refers to Mary as Woman he could’ve chosen any word Mother, Mary Mom, but he choose to call her Woman when he wrote his Gospel in John 2 and John 19 calling back to this moment the earliest Christians understood this

How does full of grace mean sinless? So she has nothing else other than grace? If I say I’m full of joy doesn’t mean all I have is joy. If Mary was sinless y did she say my spirit rejoices in God my savior. Y does she need a savior if she was perfectly sinless? Who is the only one perfect, sinless?

The majority of dogma in Catholicism is confirming a belief or teaching due to an issue that’s been brought up most the time… look back to Early Church teachings and you’ll find that the stuff getting dogmaticly declared was a belief within the Early Church teachings but they will vary on some accounts because of either confusion or them trying to explain why it’s a belief. Not gonna lie, it’s hard to understand completely why it’s the way it is, but teachings can be found there that are also getting dogmaticly declared

It’s more that every Christian until year 1500 believed that she was sinless. Those who knew the apostles personally and learned from them prayed to mary and believed that she was sinless. Agustine for example and st Ignatius of Antioch that was a student of apostle john and ordained priest by apostle peter and later martyred by lions.
