Okay I agree. But did the ad really fail when everyone and their mother is talking about it? I haven’t even watched the ad fully through but all I’ve heard for the past day is American Eagle Jeans and Sydney Sweeney. At the end of the day it’s top of mind awareness or the mere exposure effect. The more you talk about a brand, the more ppl will be likely to buy from them. To be honest, if I were to walk by an AE tomorrow, I would probably stop in and look at their jeans simply bc they are on my mind. Do I agree with their messaging? absolutely not. But was the ad successful? Yes.
