We were chilling and talking about my sa and I was like “well yeah I just thought.. because my ex before him broke my femur with a baseball bat but that’s a different story…” and then continued back into my rambling about my story and she went “hang on hang on your ex did what??” And I was like “yeah I was 14 so it’s pretty irrelevant now” she went “THATS VERY RELEVANT ELLA”

Omg, so accurate. I used to take so long to get comfortable talking to my thearpist I would end up dropping 💣 at the very end of the session after like months and months of seeing a therapist. I’m autistic and ended up finding a therapist who specialized in working with autistic people and language issues and thankfully she has not had to have that end of session heart attack I gave other therapist in the past we are able to get to the heart attack moments right away and she does her CPR magic. My heart goes out to every therapist out there helping people! You guys rock!

so, after seeing my therapist for like a year by that point, we started talking about my parents dynamic with each other; mind you the whole reason I'm in therapy is bc of them😭 and half way thru that convo my therapist tilts her head and was like "wait they live together?" I was like Yeah? she goes "they're not divorced?" I was like No... she went "Oh!😬" I THINK EVERYTHING I HAD EVER TOLD HER GAINED SO MUCH WEIGHT WITH THIS NEW CONTEXT😭😭😭

so sometimes I don’t tell my therapist things because in my mind they’re normal/old news and then I’ll say something offhand and he’ll get this look and I suddenly realize that what I considered normal was not at all normal.

On my LAST appointment before moving, i trauma dumped on my therapist and her shocked face makes me laugh to this day. I legitimately forgot all my trauma till my last appointment

Literally yesterday my therapist and I were talking about my dogs and that I can’t walk them rn cuz it’s so hot and our conversation goes “oh well why don’t you wait until night and walk them then” “nah can’t do that cuz of the person on the loose whos been offing people in my area” “wait what” “anyways-“ and we never went back to it

I had a teen bring me snacks once and tell me to buckle up while they dropped all new lore from their childhood. We had worked together for two years 😭

Me the past two times I saw my ADHD doc. "so how you doing? When we last saw each other 3 months ago you were dealing with a lot of grief because your cat got cancer and you other cat suddenly died" "well. Since then my aunt died from liver failure and my mom was in the hospital for severe liver problems" "......" "so my ADHD meds are struggling"
