Sandy Hook was a huge inflection point in this country’s opinion on guns. The politicians sold out to the NRA and there was no turning back. They knew the they would never do anything to stop mass shootings after that.

I 100% understand the reasoning and respect you for doing this. There’s so much of the time whether it’s with mass shootings or any other issue that I want to say I’m “out” but I always get conflicted. Especially bc it seems like nothing we focus on or speak out against changes. It’s like why speak out on any topic anymore? It’s not just gun violence the government does nothing about. What about Gaza? What about women’s rights? LGBTQ rights? BIPOC rights?

As an Australian my daughter was dating a black American he is now obtaining permanent residency here! He said “I love it here I get pulled over by the cops and I know I’m not going to get shot, guns don’t enter the conversation it usually is a handshake cops don’t even touch their guns!”

I'm the mother of a survivor from the Aurora theater. My daughter is still dealing with what they tell us is combat-grade PTSD. She can't heal because they just keep happening! We have to avoid any news of them. Not because we don't care but because it impacts just functioning day to day.

I never even realized because it wasn’t intentional but with the most recent one, I realize I really have not looked into any of them in the last year or longer. I don’t even care. I do, for those affected. But its become so frequent here, I can’t lie I just don’t keep up and it’s depressing and I’m so sick of all of it

I get it. I’m in Canada and I’ve been following what’s going on through reputable independent journalists and it puts my anxiety in high gear and I just can’t imagine how all of you that didn’t vote for this are dealing with it. Do what you have to do to protect your wellbeing. And hope this ends soon.

I live in Reno, NV and we had one this morning. 3 dead 2 in critical condition and the shooter was shot and in the hospital. Every damn day it’s something new, I’m over all of it!!!!! 😡
