It should be based off risk. If your house keeps burning then maybe the house shouldn’t be there. Just like Florida. FEMA refuses to issue flood policies on properties that keep flooding.

Over reach! I live in a neighborhood. I got spared from the redistricting. My neighbors two streets up for me weren’t that lucky.

Redraw fire zones based on reality and common sense only if the state truly intends to help those areas. They haven't assisted Altadena much, so why bother redrawing if they don't care about residents? It seems more for the benefit of insurance companies?

Buy a property in a flat land no hills (fire) no ocean front (tsunami) no flood zone. You will end up in bullet flying ghetto but they will insure your house.

They redraw the maps. Force people to Cal fair plan since they need the money and reserves. California doing this on purpose rather than fighting the main issue of fire control and forcing owners to clean up land.

I have a house on Mobley St in Serra Mesa. I was told to get a new roof or loose my Farmers. Got a new roof and renewed for $1,400. I thought it was pretty cheap actually. Glad to have one more year.

California has done this by design. You statutorily deny insurance companies from making a profit. Then you create a state run insurance plan as the homeowner’s last resort. Then you corral everyone into that homeowners plan so you can place homeowners over a barrel and shake them down for any amount of money.
