@belllariiina: I got to perform, for the third time in a row, at one of my best friend’s amazingly curated pole shows. It was masquerade themed. So when she told me that theme a month ago, my mind immediately saw Gaga wearing that mask during the 2009 VMA performance. I saw it as my chance to finally combine two things I love to do — pole dance and sing. I mean, why not figure out how do them at the same time? It was honestly nerve wracking at first. I’ve performed only a handful of times singing in front of live audiences. It’s something I’m extremely passionate about, but have been very shy and private with in fear of judgement. Because, yes I love to do it — but am I good enough to show it to other people? Will they like it? Will they like me? Do they think I sound okay? That’s what I’ve constantly lived with for a long time. But I’ve decided that if I ever want to pursue this dream, I have to let my ego go and just do it. Because even if it’s not perfect yet, the only way I’ll grow is by doing the thing. So here’s to doing things you’re scared of more often, to break through the fear, and be able to live a more authentic and passionate life. Be cringey and weird and crazy.
