TIPS FOR VISITING NINE ARCH BRIDGE AND WHAT TO AVOID DOING (or just be careful while doing it lol) 👍🙈 “A Marvel of Engineering: The Majestic Nine Arch Bridge in Ella” 🇱🇰 The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella is a remarkable feat of engineering nestled amidst the lush greenery of Sri Lanka’s picturesque hill country. Located near the town of Ella, this iconic bridge was constructed during the British colonial era and it’s now a popular attraction, with tourists flocking to witness the scenic beauty and marvel at the engineering wonder that has stood the test of time. 👌 To help you have the best time ever we’ve put together few tips with everything you need to know before visiting the Nine Arch Bridge: 📍 WHERE: Nine Arch Bridge, Ella Town ⏰ TRAIN TIMES: 6:30, 9:30, 11:30, 15:30, 16:30, 17:30 (however, the Sri Lankan train network is notoriously unreliable - so allocate some extra time on either side. We arrived at 9:15 and the train was there at 9:20) ☀️ BEST TIME TO VISIT: Before 9am for the best views without crowds (by about 7 am the crowds are already starting to gather, and by the time 10 am rolls around, the masses have well and truly descended lol) 🛺 HOW TO GET THERE: Walk from Ella town (20 minutes) or get a tuk-tuk to Nine Arch Bridge parking (2 USD) 👀 BEST VIEWPOINT: The Asanka Cafe, bridge itself, or tea plantation below the bridge 🚁 DRONE USE: in theory, drones are not allowed here anymore. There is police around the bridge and you might get in trouble. WHY? HORNET NESTS! 🐝 🐝 There’s plenty of them in the arches and they do feel threatened by the sound of drone. Then they follow it, they attack it, then they will attack you as well and that will hurt. Lol, be careful, okay! ❌ Flanked by thick jungle and tea plantations; this is photographers paradise 📸 ! Dont forget to bring your camera and have fun! 🥰 🌸 SAVE THIS REEL for your visit to Nine Arch Bridge! #ninearchbridge #ninearch #ninearchbridgeella #ellatown #ellasrilanka #travelcroats
