Increase taxes exponentially for each residential property owned after the first. Owning multiple residences becomes prohibitively expensive very quickly.

problem with that person owns a few houses and rents them. now they're not living in those houses but other people are that I can't afford to buy a house or whatever. now their rent is going to skyrocket to cover that taxes that are being charged and now they can't afford to live there. so now they become homeless are you trying to say that if nobody at all lives in that dwelling is the only time that it's charged?

im torn on this. as a person that has never, and probably will never be able to afford to own a house, i think this is great. however, there are people (individual people not companies) that make their living off buying, fixing, and renting/selling homes. are we going to penalize them for having multiple? i think there should definitely have a hard limit. 5-10 maybe. but have a vacancy tax saying they have to pay for every domicile that is sitting vacant. my bigger issue is with those people that have giant mansion with 20+ rooms, spanning 3 acres of land. use that space to build tiny home communities. rent controlled to be equivalent to 30 hours at a minimum wage job would earn, utilities included. if they can build alligator Alcatraz in 8 days, they better be able to put that same energy into housing people.
