Growing up, I spent every summer on the shores of Lake Superior in Marquette, Michigan at my grandparents’ house—chasing waves, collecting rocks, and soaking in that unbeatable Great Lakes magic. 🌊 This summer, I wanted my kids to experience that same simple joy, so we rented the sweetest little cottage on Lake Superior near Marquette. Watching them play on the same beaches I did as a child has been surreal. Full circle moments. 🫶 Did you know Lake Superior is the largest and deepest of the Great Lakes—and the largest freshwater lake in the world by surface area? It holds 10% of the entire planet’s fresh surface water. And it’s seriously COLD (even in July!).
