And to everyone in the comments saying 'oh it's nothing.' Congratulations for being the general public, there's a dog whistle in the ad, and through out history dog whistle is meant to go trough general public's ears unheard, so it can be denied by the maker and made to look like an over-reaction, being crazy or just overly sensitive from the people of it's target. So yes it is exactly that deep and even deeper when we look at the current political climate trough out world.

Apologize? For what — showing that great jeans actually look great? Sorry snowflakes, not every brand needs to go full Bud Light and slap a rainbow on a crate to stay relevant. American Eagle just reminded everyone what works — attractive people in quality denim. No lectures, no pronouns, no apology tours. Meanwhile Jaguar’s out here rebranding into a vegan mood board and wondering why no one’s buying. so I want to preface this by saying the ad was a bit odd. but had this been Taylor Swift. the backlash wouldn't have been there. it would have been all "yyyaaaassss slay queen!!!!" had it been a black woman, Asian woman, middle eastern woman, Mexican woman. same thing. plus size woman? same thing. I have a feeling so much of the outrage has to do with the fact that it's Sydney Sweeney and that is all.
