Disagree. College is not about the content of the education necessarily, although it does help in technical fields, but the ability to critically think and problem solve and develop have a work ethic and be able to work on a team with people of diverse backgrounds

ok there's some complexity to this but your hitting an essential aspect of capitalism, which is that it requires precarity, however the degree system obviously creates precarity for people with out degrees, but it operates differently. I am stuck in certain industries and locked out from others because I have only a high school diploma, you might say that the system creates student loan debt in order to make a greater number of people precarious, it places both dishwashers And non profit workers and school teachers etc, even management( which makes it easier to make them accomplices in exploitation), under their thumb. There is more to this as well, that would be an even longer response, which is that degree'd professionals are controlled through both incentives and precarity. you don't want to give up a certain wage, easy of life etc, so you stay quiet about the less desirable conditions. Perhaps you get a better vacation package than the person who cleans the office, but neither of you have health insurance etc... we call this in union organizing the carrot and the stick
