Question though... how do you get your foot in the door with those gig jobs? I've tried to doordash and I would get like maybe two deliveries and I feel like it wouldn't increase so I stopped. I'm wondering when that gets better?

Almost 2 years unemployed, 49 y/o, uber/lyft over saturated, DoorDash/uber eats doesn’t even pay for your gas, Instacart wants you to shop and deliver 187 items for $9, gigs have become a joke

He can't recommend this but LIE - unless it's a government job or a big company, they don't go back and check - just list your friends as contacts - every try finding the corporate HR number for Kaiser or Microsoft or Meta? I did this for over 20 years and it worked 95% of the time

You can literally read self study yourself into several different prosperous careers. REEEAAAADDDD! Careers that have bare minimum cost, but high return. 1. Real estate. 2. Plumber. 3. Electrician 4. Applied to 128 jobs in a span of 6 months. Got 4 interviews. 2 I wasn't chosen. 1 maybe. And FINALLY 1 immediate offer after the interview 😭 Money was about to run out next month! Best wishes that everyone looking find something cuz oh boy its rough rn 🥲

Temp agency had a wkplace about an hour half away….each way…..and $14/hr. Absolutely NOTHING else avail. This particular location too, no one was English speaking. DoorDash paid more!! Husband one year unemployed.
