This is why we got a chopped Mega Dragonite and no new eeveelutions. There is just so much “fan art” out there it’s nearly impossible not to copy designs. Fan artists for Pokemon have really ruined a lot of stuff for us.

This is why I waited to know the full story. Pokemon pocket released a statement that the artist received bad reference material and the card is being replaced and will be updated at a later time in order to fix what was wrong. They are also doing a full dive into the other artwork to see if they can find other issues with the artwork. I appreciate their speediness in this situation and are taking the right steps.

I know the United States grants artists automatic copyright to their work, but idk if China protects artist copyright similarly if at all? Will the artist be able to defend their work? I’m so disappointed as an artist who collects Pokemon cards for the ART.

on the app I saw an update saying that they gave references to an artist and there was a miscommunication. They said for Lugia/ho-oh the art would change once they had new art developed.
