Even as a Muslim I can tell you this man has faith a lot of us don’t even have. Islam gives you the right to get justice from anyone who hurts you, but to choose to forgive is a reward all on its own that not many are capable of.

As Muslims, you forgive someone for your own sake, not for theirs. The Prophet (saww) said: "Forgive others, and Allah will forgive you"; he also said "No one forgives, but Allah increases him in honour". And lastly he said: "The strong is not the one who overcomes others by his strength, but the strong is the one who controls himself while in anger"
